The course will focus on the dynamic, complex, and integrated health care system and organizational imperatives to deliver high-value, safe and effective health care based on industry standards, key outcome indicators, and cost-quality imperatives. The organization and delivery of health care are explored, including business aspects of healthcare systems and pertinent financial issues in the relationship between policy and healthcare system reform. Strategies to develop leadership roles in professional nursing organizations, legislative bodies, and community/consumer organizations will be identified. Various health care delivery systems and reimbursement models will be presented.
